Travel Approval and the next Chapter
Great news! I received permission to travel to China --- finally! I will be leaving the country late Sunday night. In the mean time, I will get to spend two days in Los Angeles with my dear friends Kelly, Judy and Ruth -- wonderful women that I met while adopting Joy.
I received and update on Julia from my agency as well as two pictures that were on another families disposable camera they had sent in advance. She is reported to weight about 20 pounds and just turned two. She has a "boy's personality" and is "impatient and easily bored". Sounds like she will fit well in an active, hole digging, rope swinging household. She also reportedly "likes to sleep with adults" so I expect that I will now have FOUR kids and some number of dogs in my bed! As my adoption coordinator Vicki said "She sounds PERFECT" for your family.
While in China I will update our blog as much as I can. I will also try to send a few photos. I will post to this site the photos I have of her so far. One is from a year ago, one from last winter and one from a few weeks ago.
Joy will be staying home with her Grammas, Aunt and Daddy. Jacob and James will be receiving an education in China that no tuition will ever quite cover. And me? I am so thrilled to meet my daughter. I know that there will be moments, but the thought of another little one to brighten my already richly blessed life makes me smile. I can hardly wait.
Feel free to respond via blogspot OR e-mail me directly at jackbug2001@yahoo.com if you want to let me know anything else. I will be receiving Julia on Tuesday afternoon US time. I am hoping to post something by Wednesday AM. If I can, I will have Jacob post Tuesday night to let everyone know she is fine but I will not be leaving her for even a minute for the first day or so. Jacob will also be video taping and James taking pictures. See... there is a reason I am taking those boys!
Please, keep us in your prayers. I am sure there will be moments when I need to feel them.
Looking forward to sharing the rest of this journey!
